Split Pea & Ham Soup

Serves 6.  One thing that sets our split pea soup aside from others, is the fact that we make our stocks from scratch.  This means that you get a split pea soup with a ham stock base.  It cooks low and slow with the ham bones in the soup.  This infuses a flavor that can not compare to boxed, canned or even restaurant made soup.  Nice and thick to start, it will thicken further if left in the fridge for leftovers, as split peas never stop absorbing liquid!

Made from organic ingredients:  Gallagher's ham bone, Bareknuckle Farm onion & garlic, Isadore Farm celery, Second Spring Farm carrots, Lord & Lady Farm parsley & thyme, bay leaf, green split peas, butter, safflower oil, salt and white pepper.
